Love for Dogs and Cats

I have always been an animal lover. Having pets around is an essential part of my happiness. I need a furry friend to greet me every morning and when I come home.

Right now I have two dogs, two miniature pinschers, and earlier this year had to put to sleep my cat of ten years due to her kidneys failing. She was the cutest cat. I miss my kitty. I have not gotten another cat because I am still not over the loss of her, and a cat just doesn't fit into my lifestyle right now.

You could say I'm a little cat crazy and dog wild!

LitterMaid Self Cleaning Litter Box

This thing is the best! Self Cleaning Litter Box.

Cats love it as much as they love a clean litter box to use! So give your cat what he or she wants and get the the LitterMaid Self Cleaning Litter Box.

Features:

- 29 inches long, 8-7/8 inches high, 16-3/4 inches wide
- Automatically rakes waste into sealable container 10 minutes after use
- Large capacity: ideal for large- and multiple-cat households
- Plugs into wall socket or operates with eight D-cell batteries (not included)
- Paw cleaning ramp and 12 reusable/disposable waster containers included

Ideal for a household with a large cat or more than one cat, this big, self-cleaning litter box eliminates most odors while keeping the litter pleasingly fresh for tabby. It's ingenious in design: a cat entering the box triggers a sensor; the sensor sets a timer that counts off 10 minutes; then a rake runs through the litter, scooping out clumps and depositing them in a plastic container at the box's end; the container is automatically sealed until the next cat visit, when the raking cycle opens the container for another deposit. (Twelve reusable, disposable containers are included, each 13 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 3-1/2 inches deep.) The litter box can be plugged into a wall socket (AC adapter included) or operated on eight D-cell batteries (not included). It comes with a durable carpeted ramp that leads a cat into the box and cleans its paws on the way out. For safety, the rake stops and reverses at the slightest touch if an object gets in the way. If a cat re-enters the box before the initial 10 minutes have elapsed, the timer automatically resets. The litter box is made of hard plastic and measures 29 inches long, 8-7/8 inches high, and 16-3/4 inches wide. For proper operation, it requires premium, clumping litter but does not need as much as a nonautomated litter box of the same size. For cleaning, the litter tray can be detached. Instructions for acclimating a cat to the box are included. --Fred Brack

Alpha Cat Beta Dog

Have you ever had a cat so bold, a female cat, that she tries to take over her male dog friend's kennel and bed? I have a ten year old little mixed tabby who was found sleeping in a tree in my Grandmother's back yard, and this cat is the only feline I have ever known who has absolutely no problem telling the dog how things are going to be. In her world, that is!

I have endless stories about the two of them. The dog is a male miniature pinscher just 5 human years old and although he does terrorize her a bit, she lets him know who is boss. He likes to drag his blanket out of his little kennel which is where he sleeps, and burrows underneath it in the middle of the living room floor. She uses this as the perfect opportunity to make her move.

Its usually in the daytime that the dog does this burrowing thing, but by the evening for some reason he gets the urge to go in his kennel and wants help getting the blanket back in there. However, its not uncommon that the cat has made her way right up into the cage and curls up to sleep. I've never had a cat and a dog who really loved each other so much and get along so well. But as with any siblings they bicker and jealousy ensues at every opportunity. She will go in his cage and all of a sudden the dog will be whining and get my attention, and sure enough the cat will be in his kennel. Its really funny, she really just wants to be #1. I suppose one can't blame her. But why would a cute and prissy girl cat want to sleep in a stinky dog cage? And its one of those plastic kennels with the wire cage door, so its not even a really nice setup. She will lie there on the smelly plastic and its almost she is grinning like a cheshire!

I think its time to buy the cat her own bed. Most of the time she is layed out in the middle of the floor though. She likes to make absolutely sure she is right where everyone has to step over her. Its amazing that we manage to not trip over her, and she is as calm as can be.

Have you ever had a cat who will lie and stare a dog in the face as he barks at her, trying to get her to play? I do, and she is really weird.
